The Story So Far
Once upon a time, in the heart of Hallow, a traditional country inn was sorely in need of some TLC. A new team, a sprinkling of imagination and a top-to-toe refurbishment later, the all-new and improved Crown Inn opened its doors, bringing together 17th-century charm, modern-day luxury.
So how did we get here from there?
A beautiful refurbishment of a 17th century pub steeped in history.
We started with a tired old building that featured many period details, the scheme needed to complement these in order to look and feel authentic.
The Crown Inn lacked kerb appeal and a defined bar area was required to avoid customer confusion on entering the venue. The WC’s needed a complete overhaul too.
Our owner had a vision of something exciting and different, of creating an inn that’s better than home for our guests and to use the right design to make it far from predictable.
We wanted to move away from the dark and rustic feel of so many Worcestershire pubs. The Crown Inn combines the best of our 17th century heritage – the beams, the exposed brick walls and the oddly-shaped rooms – with modern colours and fabrics that feel fresh and inviting.
A complete refresh of the interior, brand, and food offer was carefully implemented to amplify and improve the customer experience. We had bespoke furniture individually made for both the bar and restaurant. The bold scheme and quirky fabrics sit sympathetically with the period details and inject a bit of whimsy.
And slowly The Crown Inn started to take shape. Every area is unique and we soon realised that you can’t control every aspect of the space, so we didn’t try! We worked with the rooms and allowed them to speak for themselves, taking a traditional material or piece of furniture and adding a twist to make it feel contemporary.
Whether you knew the ‘old’ Crown Inn or whether this is your first visit, we hope you love the way we’ve been sympathetic to the old building and kept its individuality, while giving a charming experience for the customer.
Here’s to the future! The story doesn’t end here.
